Again with the stupid.

It didn't take long for more stupid to show up on Facebook. I now have a folder on my desktop to collect the stupid fundietarded shit to laugh at. It's really sad actually.

This is what I meant the last time with the stupid cut and paste jobs. Obviously people have no idea how to format anything that they've cut and pasted into those little boxes. Or how to click on the place that says more to get the rest of what the person they copied this little screed from had to say. Yeah, everyone has regrets in life, whether it being something that you wish you could have said to someone that you will never see again or speak to again because they've died. Don't cheapen that with this shit please. Having regrets in life is a part of life because nothing is perfect. Why would you not try to enjoy what time you have and try to make less regrets like that and live? Sorry, I guess that's just the part of me that doesn't believe in sky fairies.

And of course you don't forget people that were important to you either, unless you get something like Alzheimer's, that is. I don't know. It baffles me. I've lost people that were important to me and never entertained these kind of pathetic wishful fantasies. Then again, this was from a person that seems to have a very difficult time coming to terms with death period. She lost her mother ten or more years ago and continues to behave as if her mother passed away yesterday. That is the saddest part. She indulges in such speculation instead of enjoying her children and her life. She used to be a very carefree and happy person. I guess she never learned to cope. She lost her father when she was younger and it never impacted her like this has. It's very sad and I would like to suggest that she get counselling, but it would never penetrate the bubble she has put around herself and the people that continue to keep the behavior going.

Yes, post up that little butt nugget of "wisdom". Yup, work hard at wanking because when you wank, it's not for you, it's for the "Lord". Slap a bible verse on it too randomly in between your Mafia Wars posts of slapping the shit out of other players. Then again, I guess you were doing that for the "Lord" too. I hear he likes a good smiting.

Seriously though, when I work, I'm thinking about getting my work done and doing it correctly to save myself further work down the road. My work can be very monotonous, but let me tell you if I wanted a life dedicated to some sky fairy, I'd have become a nun. Ain't happening so fuck off.

First of all, you might want to proofread a little better next time. CAPS LOCK is cruise control for cool too. But really, if your life is so shit that you're going on like this all the time, you need to fucking get out of there and start all over again. No man or woman is worth the constant drama. Honestly.

I'll give you a hint what you need. Some boxes. Pack your shit up in them and get the fuck out. Problem solved. And look, you didn't have to ask any dust mote on the ceiling that either! If you don't know what you need, how have you made it this far in life? When you're hungry do you do the same thing? When you have to shit? Do you begin to waste away from hunger and covered in shit because there is no response? No, you fucking get something to eat and take a shit. Why should this be any different? You're in a shitty relationship and it's not working. Simple solution: end the shitty relationship. Obviously your close family members that all chimed in on this are just as fucking moronic about such things as you are.

These guys make my head hurt. Fuck.

It's nice to know that you CAN fix stupid sometimes.

Over the weekend, I committed a faux pas at work. I disagreed, though argued would be more appropriate, with a resident. Here at work, we're told that we are not to argue with the residents and to mindlessly agree with them regardless of what they are saying. Sadly, there are times when I cannot in let things slide. When I hear blatant idiocy, I have to speak up.

Now this particular resident isn't of the elderly sort. He's an individual with a host of medical problems, and he is an intelligent individual who I have butted heads with before on occasion about some things that he has said that are complete and utter bullshit, but he believed with all his heart was true. Like how carbon dating is complete and utter shit. He cannot tell me why this is, but because at one point in time, someone told him that it was, he believed it. He believes in woo. He's also a christian. I don't hold any of that against him and most of the time we have long and interesting conversations about science and books, particularly science fiction.

I happened to be reading an article about some quackery on a page and he asked what I was reading about. I told him about the author of the page, who is a cancer researcher. That's when he snorted derisively and said "Well, all cancer is a lack of B vitamins." I started laughing. Pretty much that was just the most wootastic thing I had heard all day. I told him in no uncertain terms that no, cancer was not caused by a lack of vitamins, otherwise people who took daily supplements would never get cancer. He refused to believe as I told him that his reasoning was incorrect and unsupported by any facts. He snorted again and said, "I have a book. I'll show it to you." I told him that you can't believe everything that you read. He then said "You wouldn't believe a doctor?" I told him that doctors can lie just like everyone else. He went to eat dinner.

In the 15 minutes that it took him to eat, I had pulled up one doctor that had claimed cancer was caused by a lack of B vitamins. Unfortunately this was not the "doctor" he was referring to. The gentleman that I brought up had a medical education. The one he was talking about had gotten his "degree" from a religious diploma mill in Oklahoma. A trip to Quackwatch and a run down of the so-called doctor's treatment and "vitamin B" which is not a vitamin at all but a derivative of cyanide made him blink in surprise. Each of his illusions about this man and his "cure" were demolished and dealt with quickly and with little reaction but complete astonishment on his part. He actually thanked me for taking the time to enlighten him on what being skeptical about things does for one's self. He wasn't angry at all that I had called him on something that he had blindly believed for years. He was quite pleased and asked for the location of the information that we had found. I wrote down the URL for him and then he asked for the locations of a few astronomy articles we had talked about earlier in the day.

You can combat ignorance with intelligence sometimes and in the end it's rewarding. I was glad that I was able to open his eyes to skeptical thinking somewhat. Now if only he would do as such when telling me that it was fact that there has been one person that lived for over a thousand years, Methulsalah. My ever so eloquent retort was, "Pics or it didn't happen." He's never tried that tack with me again.

It's about the fun stupid

This made me laugh. Nintendo boasts 9 million advantage among female console gamers. Why did this make me laugh? Because Nintendo is claiming that they have most of the female gamer market tied up. Do they? Who knows, they don't list any numbers for Sony or Microsoft.

I do own a Nintendo products. I do not own a Wii. I do not like the Wii. It's a gimmick, in my opinion, to lure new players with a new twist on gaming that is basically you waving your arms around like a moron. I don't see that as entertainment.

Now the DS is a different story. I have a DS and I enjoy it. I also own a Gameboy Advance SP, a Gameboy Color, a Gameboy Pocket, and an original NES. However, that doesn't mean that I'm playing those systems all the time. I am the primary gamer in the house, I will admit that. I don't get into casual games that much. I want to play games that are challenging and take quite a bit of work to finish. Most games I play are far from what would appear on a Wii.

I also own a PSP1000 series. And I play it. I watch anime on it. I watch videos of all sorts on it. I play PS1 games on it. I play downloaded games on it. I listen to music on it. I read manga on it. I love the damn thing. While a friend borrowed it several months ago there was a terrible tragedy and it's poor screen was broken. You know what? A new screen costs $30 and is easily replaced. It's never looked better and plays beautifully. Right now, it's not doing anything else but waiting for me to get back to playing Persona PSP. And I will.

And I own actual consoles besides that NES. I own 2 Atari 2600s. They both still work as well. I own an original fat PS1. It sadly really needs to go in the trash. I killed the poor thing from overuse. That's not the first console I've killed either. I've been the cruel murderer of no less than 3 PS2s. They all limped to their demises from overuse. I am on my fourth one. A nice shiny slim that still gets a vigorous work out. And then there is my baby. My 60 gig PS3. One of the original PS3s that came out at release. One that I payed waaaay too much for. Do I mind? Hell no. I love my PS3 and I love the blood soaked games I play on it. Yes, I have Little Big Planet and Civ, but I haven't beaten Little Big Planet and I've overplayed Civ into submission.

I won't lie. The majority of the games I own are rated M. Bioshock was slapped around like a red headed step child in a evening and a few hours the next morning. Dead Space was hijacked by my significant other. I can't play the game if someone else in the house is. I have to start it all over because I lost track of where I was in the game. Which is sad because in the two days that I played it, I got halfway through it. Overlord was a riot. Assassin's Creed was my bitch the day it came out.

My favorite game on the PS3? That would have to be Resistance 2. I cannot get enough of that game. I have yet to finish the story mode. I am an online co-op play junkie for R2. I know Orick like the back of my hand. I don't frag the n00bs too much. I help. I'm the psycho soldier that barrels right in at the enemy like I'm invincible. I'm the spec ops that you never see unless you're getting a refill of ammo and then I'm gone, sniping those Chimeran bastards. And honestly, I'm that really sucky medic. That's probably why the medic is the only one I don't have maxed. I'm also the person that 90% of the matches I play in have 2x as many points as the other players and am the leader in kills. And it's fine. Most of the guys on PSN are pretty cool. I've got a friend list of pretty good length just from good matches in R2. And clan invites out the ass. None of them know I'm female however. Honestly I don't think many of them that have played any length of time with me would mind either. Even the annoying 12 year olds that keep dying and yelling for ammo because they couldn't hit the broadside of a barn if they were two feet away. I'll still give up the ammo. I'll still rush up there and revive you, even if I'm not a medic. Because I want to game. And it shouldn't matter if I'm male or female. All that should matter is that it's game time.

I guess I'm not one of those stereotypical female gamers. Then again, every time one of these stories pops up, a deluge of female gamers that don't fit into their little notion of what women gamers are respond to said article. I keep my sex ambiguous for the most part. I've been online long enough to know that it saves a load a headaches to keep it that way. Gaming is no different. Let someone know that you're female on a lot of first person shooters and you're gonna get nothing but grief from quite a few of your fellow players. Why is this?

I attribute it in part to the fact that most game companies don't take into account the silent female gamers. The ones that do more than play Cooking Mama or Nintendogs. Honestly, you couldn't pay me enough to pick up either of those games. Most game companies don't hire that many female developers. Gaming is seen as male dominated. At least what many refer to as 'hardcore' gaming. I am not a casual gamer. I have been playing console, handheld, and PC games for around 25 years.

Quit worrying about some ambiguous numbers Nintendo. You may think you have most of the female gamer market tied up, but quite a few of us are silent gamers. Quite few of us spend massive amounts of money on our rigs, systems and games. Not a single one of my game systems or handhelds are pink. I friggen hate pink. I'm not a hardcore Nintendo fan. If anything, I could be considered a Sony fangirl. Which is fine. I don't care as long as I have a good time taking out those Chimera.
